ISLAMABAD: Strongly condemning t
he attack outside the Punjab Assembly on Monday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reiterated that the government was committed to eliminating terrorism from the country.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s House, Nawaz urged the nation not to lose heart. He expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of the chief traffic officer, the deputy inspector general and others. He directed the authorities concerned to provide best medical facilities to the injured. Separately, President Mamnoon Hussain also condemned t
he attack and said that such acts could not shake the resolve of the nation.
He also conveyed his condolences to the families of all those who embraced martyrdom. inous act. In a separate statement, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives
in the attack. Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani also said that cowardly attacks could not deter the resolve of the nation
in the war against terrorism.
