KHYBER AGENCY: Two ch
ildren were died and 11 others affected badly when they were adminis
tered anti-polio
drops here in Shalober, Kamber area of tehsil Bara of Khyber Agency on Wednesday. The local and administration sources told that health condition of 13 ch
ildren deteriorated after they were adminis
tered anti-polio
drops in the on-going polio eradication campaign.
They were shifted to Peshawar hospital where two infant died. Five ch
ildren were discharged after providing medical treatment while six effected were admitted in the hospital, health sources told.
According to the parents,the ch
ildren were died after feeding them polio
drops however Agency surgeon DrNiaz Afridi said that polio
drops and measles vaccina
tion have been adminis
tered to the ch
ildren and so far reason of their death con not be known. He said that samp
le of the vaccine have been sent to Islamabad to sort out cause of the ch
ildren death.
The deceased were identified as Abu Bakar and Musa.
